Discover why Zanzibar is frequently referred to as the Spice Islands !
Of course the spices have their place in the natural history of Zanzibar as they symbolize the cessation of slave trade. When the slaves were no longer traded as commodity, they were utilized internally as labour on clove, spice, and coconut plantations. For your full discovery, your host has programmes for two full days.

City Tour
Duration – three and half hours.
On the panoramic City Tour you will see remnants of the Island’s exciting past which includes almost 200 years of Portuguese occupation and a long line of Oman Sultans from 1832 up to 1964, when a popular movement deposed the Sultan and brought into being a republic.
We will visits the City Market, built in 1904 and one of the busiest places in Town where fruits, spices, meats, chicken and fish is sold.
The next stop will be the Anglican Church, built on the site of the old slave market, which was closed in 1873. Bishop Edward Steer was allowed to build the church by the Sultan Barghash, it was finished in 1877 and inside you can see the cross made of wood from tree where Dr. David Livingstone’s heart was buried after his death in Chitambo(Zambia) in 1874.
Also we will visit the museum at the house of wonder, where holds many relics from the time of the Sultans and great explores. The Arab fort, Livingstone House are the next stops on the agenda and of course leisurely walking through the narrow lanes of Stone Town. The Stone Town built on a 95 acre peninsula and consisting of about 2500 building all made of coral stone, clay and lime, thus the name. This is the most interesting part of the Island.

Spice Tour
Duration: three and half hours.
On the spice Tour we will drive through Ngambo, the new Town of Zanzibar. You will pass the Livingstone House, from where the famous British explorer planed his last expedition to Central Africa. After a short drive you will arrive at the ruins of the Maruhubi Palace, in which Sultan Barghash accommodated his harem. The Palace was destroyed in 1899 by a fire.
Afterwards you will visit the Kizimbani area where spice grow. You will see tropical fruits such as, jack fruits, bread fruits, karambola, pineapples, lychees, and etc. You will taste those fruits that are in season. Also we will look at various other plants, such as henna bush, perfume tree, lipstick tree and spice such as cardamon, cinnamon, clove, black pepper, nutmeg and many others. The landscape around the Kizimbani will give you a good impression of the life of Zanzibaris. |
Jozani Forest
Duration : three hours.
Is the only natural forest in Zanzibar, and on the forest one can see different types of monkeys includes the red colobus, which never seen else where except West Africa and Zanzibar.
The reserve is the one of the last remaining sites of the Island indigenous forest with fascinating varieties of flora and fauna. |

Dolphin Tour
Duration: half day
We will drive straight to South West of Zanzibar Island, to Kizimkazi Beach Village, where we take a boat for dolphins watch. If you are lucky enough, even sometimes you may swim with them. The possibility of seeing the dolphins is 90%.
PS: This tour may combined with Jozani Forest on extra cost (will be full day tour).

Boat Safari.
Duration: Full day
The tour starts from Fumba in the south west of Zanzibar island, where we board a typical local boat and the starts the visit of the area around the Menai Bay. This part is know for its beautiful sea rich of corals and fish. It is also possible to see Dolphins, white sand islets and colorful lagoons. It is a day entirely dedicated to swimming, snorkeling and relax. |

Islets Tour
Duration: Full day
The tour starts from Zanzibar town where we take a boat to Biladi sand bank for swim and sun bath, from the sand bank we proceed to Bawe island for fruit lunch and snorkeling to the reef near to the island. And finally we visit the Changuu (prison) island. The changuu island was set up as a quarantine island in 1891 by Sir Llyod Mathews, first minister of Sultan Ali bin Said and only later on a prison was contracted but was not in used as such. The island has added attraction of several giant Aldabra tortoises and beautiful Peacocks which are living and breading on the island. |
